Cartography of Reggio Emilia

There are always lots of researchers who make use of maps for their work, or even simple sketches if nothing else is available.

Researchers looking for documents of this kind immediately head to the collections that are guaranteed to contain them, such as those of cadastral surveys, land registers and maps by qualified land surveyors.

However, it is also possible to find cartographic materials in archives where one might not think to look. Furthermore, while the Reggio Emilia area is the main zone covered, there are also maps of other areas present.

Therefore, a useful guide has been provided for the vast majority of the plans and maps. It divides them by the archives in which they are found and states what they portray.
